Ladies and gentlemen, I am proud to announce Ekklesia Church has finally taken a giant leap forward. That’s right, we’ve finally stepped into the technological realm of the late twentieth century… We are finally Blogging!
Because this is our flagship post, I thought it would be a good idea to outline some of our reasoning for choosing to jump headfirst into this new (for us) media outlet; Why we’re here, what we hope to accomplish through this venture, and what we plan to use this blog for.
I’m sure some of you (I’m talking to you James!) are wondering… Why now? Great question. My response: Why not? I enjoy writing, and I don’t do it nearly enough. This could end up being a truly cathartic exercise for me (and whoever else guest posts here). However, that’s not the only (or even the main) reason Ekklesia is starting our official blog now. The reason for now… is you! That’s right. You.
We like you! We want to know you better, and we want you to get to know us better. We want to tell you about our hopes, our dreams, our prayers, goals, visions, and we want to hear yours. We want to be engaging, and to be engaged. Basically, we want to be able to be real with you. This blog, Our Facebook page, podcast and our Twitter feed all play into this. (check it out, our links are on the right).
People, We don’t just want to push out more content. We don’t want to create consumers. We want conversation… so… Talk to us! (Helpful hint: we respond best to Facebook or email, so drop us a line! You can expect new blogs from James or me every two week, as well as a smattering of guest posts. We’ll also be announcing new events and news updates regularly. We also have a weekly podcast, which you can subscribe to on our website. Hopefully, something you read or hear will catch your interest, and our first official non-introduction post will be posted Next Tuesday. Until then, have a great week!
